Any bad blood that the members of Fifth Harmony had is officially done with. Since Tiffany Haddish epically dissed the members of the group on last night’s MTV Awards, the girls have been speaking out individually.
Lauren Jauregui took to Twitter to say: “Waiting for the day when supporting one successful dope woman does not mean insult to other successful dope women. There is energy and space for us all to beautifully coexist and bless the world with our individual truths, stories and talents.”
This comes after Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish were enlisted to present an award that came along with some legendary banter. While talking about Camila Cabello being nominated, Haddish said: “Camila Cabello is here nominated for five awards. So for those of you watching at home… Hi, Fifth Harmony.”
Jaws dropped across the audience while Camila shook her head at the diss.
Nicki Minaj ended up winning the first award of the night. She then defended Normani Kordei by saying: “Don’t be coming for Fifth Harmony because Normani is that b****.”
The rapper took her defense even further when she clarified on Queen Radio: “Last night at the VMAs, I said Normani is that b****. Because she is. And I won’t allow anyone to disrespect a black woman in my f***** face. I’ve had it with this s***.”
Normani, of course, was grateful for Minaj sticking up for her.
She took to social media to retweet fans messages about Nicki’s stance.
Lauren also took the time to support her friend and collaborator Halsey on not being nominated for any awards after the pop singer voiced her frustrations.
“@halsey deserved at the very least a nomination last night. Consistently directed her own videos this entire era. Not to mention her attention to detail stringing them into a story. I feel like that deserves recognition, especially in a climate where most artists don’t even write.”
What did you think about Tiffany Haddish and Kevin Hart’s presentation? Did Fifth Harmony deserve an invite to the show?
