A Drake TV show had recently been announced. He has bought the rights to the London-based show titled Top Boy. Soon, he will be making his debut in it. Furthermore, Top Boy has significant role for him.
Drake TV Show and His Significant Role
Reports state that the producers of the show are actually creating a “significant role” for the Canadian musician. This was confirmed by Ashley Walters, who plays Dushane on the show. According to the actor, last week, the Canadian rapper joined the show’s creator in order to discuss the role.
He said that they had met up with Drake. Moreover, the show’s team is working very hard to give him the role. Drake loves acting, said Walters, that it why he was looking for a role to play. “We met up to start talking about the show and we are working out a role for him,” Walter said. “He’s going to be really hands on and is getting stuck into it.”
Channel 4 had previously dropped the show. The moment Drake learned about it, he brought the rights to the show. Since the show was picked up by Netflix, Drake has become the biggest fan, BBC said. He tweeted about the show and said that he was in love with it.
“@AshleyWalters82 is too incredible!!” Drake tweeted. “Everybody on Top Boy gives such incredible performances. That show is just too good.”
Walters responded to Drake with another tweet. “Shouts to @Drake for posting about #TopBoy this morning!” Walters stated. “It’s positive to see that the rest of the world is learning about the #UK street culture.”
The Canadian rapper hailed the British TV series in his 2015 track Know Yourself. The first two seasons of the TV series were broadcasted from 2011 to 2013. Apart from So Solid Crew’s Walters, the show also stars rapper Kano.
On a tangent, reports state that the famous Canadian rapper has previously gotten involved in acting. He appeared on a Canadian soap titled Degrassi: The Next Generation. The rapper came on the show for six years, beginning in 2001, and he gradually left music during those times. In the official singles chart, the star now has 23 tracks.
Drake TV Show: Rapper Loves Acting
The Canadian rapper once commented about his intrinsic desire to return to acting. He said that although the music is his “focal point,” he would love to do a film.
“That was the life that I lived before and it would be interesting to live it again,” Drake said.
According to Mirror UK, Walters also commented on the rapper. “He is such a down to earth, nice guy,” Walters said. “He’s so famous you would expect him to be this crazy character but he’s actually quite boring, in a good way.”
