Has the Avengers: Infinity War D23 trailer finally been leaked online? This is apparently the case thanks to one fan capturing footage of the trailer. Here’s what you need to know about what was shown at the recent D23 Expo.
Avengers: Infinity War D23 Trailer
Though the leaked footage is not the best of quality, it shows enough for fans to follow. The Avengers: Infinity War D23 trailer starts off with the usual recap sequence of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films thus far before leading towards the Marvel Studios logo. The trailer then reveals the Guardians of the Galaxy on their ship before an unknown body suddenly slams into their vehicle.
As it turns out, the unknown body is actually Thor (Chris Hemsworth). Mantis (Pom Klementieff) later revives him, and the God of Thunder soon leads the Guardians to Earth. As to how Thor ended up in the cosmos in the first place is still unknown. However, some speculate that such an event may be explained in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok.
Later, Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) is seen to be controlling cars with her mind. A female voice is heard in the background, saying, “Death follows him like a shadow.” The statement seems to refer to Infinity War’s antagonist, Thanos (Josh Brolin).
Another Thor character in the form of Loki (Tom Hiddleston) makes his appearance as well. Notably, Loki seems to be in the ownership of the Tesseract before he hands it over to an unknown figure. Some may already know that the Tesseract houses one of the Infinity Stones, so as to why it is with Loki—and why he hands it to someone else—may leave some fans wondering what the character’s plans are.
Spider-Man’s Spider Sense
One scene, in particular, draws attention to Tom Holland’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man. As the trailer shows, the hairs on Peter’s arms stand up while he is on his school bus. As per some speculation, this may hint at Spider-Man’s Spider Sense finally manifesting in Infinity War. The ability was not present in the recent Spider-Man: Homecoming, so perhaps it later develops in the next Avengers flick.
Spider-Man is also seen to be donning a new suit. This is presumed to be his Iron Spider Armor suit, which was shown at the end of Homecoming. Despite his upgraded gear, Peter is later revealed to be beaten to the ground. He apologizes to Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) as he lays on the ground, but as to why or how he finds himself in such a predicament is still unknown.
Other scenes involve the Avengers working together against Thanos. Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) assists Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) with his abilities. Additionally, some footage shows clips of T’Challa/Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and the return of Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) making their appearances in the film. There is also the revelation of Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) and his new look: a beard, which is a far cry from his usual “boy next door” image.
Ultimately, the trailer — though leaked — leaves fans hyped for Infinity War. An official trailer for the film has yet to be released, though fans continue to bask in the afterglow of recent updates regarding the movie. Watch the released Avengers: Infinity War D23 trailer below.
